Where can I park at Cofc?
We recommend that visitors to the campus use one of three city parking garages:
- St. Philip St. Garage located on St. Philip St. between Vanderhorst St.
- George St. Garage located on St. Philip St. between George St. and Liberty St.
- Wentworth St. Garage located at the corner of Wentworth St. and St. Philip St.
Can freshman have cars at College of Charleston?
Are students allowed to bring a car? Students may certainly bring a car, but where they park the car will be their responsibility. They will not, however, be eligible for on-campus parking until such time as they have 60 or more credit hours on file with the College of Charleston Registrar’s Office.
Can you have a car on campus at College of Charleston?
Vehicles parked in a College of Charleston parking lot must have a valid permit properly displayed to avoid receiving a parking citation. Campus Services HQ issues parking permits for all surface parking lots and magnetic access cards for several garages located near campus.
Does City College have student parking?
STUDENT PARKING: There is no general day student parking available. Paid Parking may be offered to students with disabilities who have a State, Municipal or NYC-issued disabled parking permit or license plate.
How much is parking in Charleston?
The rate for both parking meters and surface lots is $2 per hour, with a 2-hour limit. Parking meters accept VISA, Mastercard, City of Charleston SmartCards and coins for payment. The SmartCard is an economical and convenient payment method for parking meters in the city of Charleston.
Can freshman live off campus at CofC?

How much is CCSF parking permit?
A valid parking permit can be purchased daily for $5.00. Visitors (and students) may purchase a one-day permit from parking ticket machines located in parking lots.

What can you not bring to College of Charleston?
If you have a specific item you are not sure about, please call Campus Housing or Residence Life. Appliances with open heating elements (e.g., electric woks, deep fryers, hot plates, toasters/toaster ovens, etc.) Combustible fuels (e.g., gasoline, kerosene, etc.) Pets (Fish in a tank of 10 gallons or less are allowed.)

How many credit hours do you have to have to apply for college parking?
Students living on campus who have fewer than 60 cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made are not eligible to apply for College parking.
How are parking assignments determined for college students?
Students who are eligible to apply for parking will be assigned parking based on the number of cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made. In the event of identical credit hours earned, applications received first will have priority.
