The park is in a beautiful location in North Alabama which offers some great hiking, beautiful scenery and several options for lodging: primitive camping, RV camping, a lodge and cabins.

Fort Desoto Park is very close to St. Pete Beach and offers boating, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, bicycling, skating, running, nature trails, historical fort, fishing piers, doggy beach, shelling, birding, camping, and swimming. However, swimming is not recommended in many areas of the park.
Does Fort DeSoto campground have sewer?
We do not have television or full hook-up sewer. We do have a two dump stations and seven restrooms located in the campground.
Can you go to Fort Desoto at night?
Fort Desoto Park is open every day from 7 a.m. until sunset, or you can camp here and have the run of the place all night. The sunsets from North Beach are truly something to behold. Fort DeSoto has a $5 beach parking fee in addition to the Pinellas Bayway tolls you pay to get out to the park.

To make a camping reservation please contact the Campground reservation system. The facilities include picnic tables, grills, water, electricity, washers, dryers, sanitary disposal stations, modern restrooms, showers, play areas, and a camp store. Popup camper at the campground.

From January through April, occupancy is limited to 14 nights in any 30-day period.
