Are Gautrain buses operating today?
The Gautrain’s bus and train services operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Detailed train schedules and departure times can be accessed using the Gautrain app, at any Gautrain station or here.
How often does the Gautrain bus run?
On most routes, and subject to road and traffic conditions, buses are provided every 12 minutes during peak times and every 20 minutes during off-peak times. To use the bus service, a Gautrain Card with a minimum value of R30 loaded onto it is required.

On weekends & public holidays trains are available every 30 minutes on the North-South and the East-West line.

What time do Gautrain buses end?
Buses run between 08h15 and 19h30 and depart every 45 minutes from both ends. A ticket costs R10 per trip and is available at Sandton Station.
Does Gautrain card expire?
Your Gautrain Gold Card is valid for three years from its date of last use. Any unused Pay-As-You-Go value will expire three years from date of last use.
Do Gautrain buses run on public holidays?

Is food allowed on the Gautrain?
Eating and drinking is not permitted on the train. The entire Gautrain system has been designated non-smoking. The carrying of any dangerous weapons including firearms is prohibited.
Is the Gautrain bus service available on weekends?
The weekday Gautrain bus service timetable has been amended to accommodate the changes made to the weekday train service. The bus service is available on weekdays and only the Mall of Africa and Pretoria Zoo routes are available on weekends.
Do You need A Gautrain card to use the midi bus?
To use the midi-bus service, each passenger is required to purchase a midi-bus ticket at a cost of R10. For your convenience, tickets are available at the departing station. Gautrain Cards, Contactless bank cards or cash payments are not accepted forms of payment when using the midi-bus service.
Is the Gautrain at Tambo open on Monday?
Eight of Gautrain’s nine stations will open on Monday. The stop at OR Tambo has been removed from the list, however. The Gautrain will operate from 5:00 – 9:30 and 15:00 to 19:00 in order to provide a service for commuters. There will be no lunchtime services.
When do new Gautrain trains run at peak time?
Peak and off-peak times during level 3 lockdown will be as follows: Peak periods between 06:00 – 09:00 and 14:30 – 18:00. Off-peak periods between 09:00 – 14:30 and 18:00 – 20:30. On weekends and public holidays trains will operate at 30-minute intervals.
