We briefly covered the three main payload types: singles, stagers and stages. Metasploit contains many different types of payloads, each serving a unique role within the framework. Let’s take a brief look at the various types of payloads available and get an idea of when each type should be used.

What is the RTP Payload Format for named Telephone Events?
The RTP payload format for named telephone events is designated as “telephone-event”, the media type as “audio/telephone-event”. In accordance with current practice, this payload format does not have a static payload type number, but uses an RTP payload type number established dynamically and out-of-band.
Can a telephony event be transmitted as a tone?
Finally, some telephony events such as “on-hook” occur out-of-band and cannot be transmitted as tones. Do you need payload 101 for ITSP DTMF?
First of all you need to get in touch with your ITSP. This INVITE has no DTMF capabilities advertised. You need to sort their side out first before proceeding further. Here payload 101 is used for telephone-event (DTMF). In your SDP we dont see any of this.
