What is the difference between RX and BX ring gasket?
BX gaskets are generally used for the higher pressures. R gaskets, which are not designed to be pressure energized, and RX gaskets, which are pressure energized, do not makeup with the flange faces face to face. The BX gaskets, however, do generally makeup face to face.
What is BX gasket?
Style BX are pressure energized gaskets manufactured in accordance with API 6A and designed for use up to 20,000 psi. All BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure which may be trapped in the grooves.
