Is the Subaru Outback compatible with MirrorLink?
And, according to SOA, the ’17 Outback works with, and only with, MirrorLink version 1.1 (the pdf manual says 1.1 and 1.0). So, no go. Sadly, an Outback manufactured only a month ago comes with outdated MirrorLink firmware, and does not support the more popular Android Auto or Apple CarPlay protocols.
