Can dogs hike the chief?
While dogs are permitted on the Stawamus Chief Trails, the ascent up to the first peak is not for the faint of heart. There are small ladders and a few sets of chains your dog must brave.
How long is the chief hike?
Depending on where you go, times will vary. First Peak is a 4km round trip from the Chief parking lot and will take an average group around 3 to 4 hours. Fast parties can do it 1.5-2 hours. Second Peak is a little longer at 5km and will take most groups 4 to 5 hours.
Can you swim in Shannon Falls?
Depending on the season, you can find a few swimming or dunking pools along the falls route to cool down in. The trail there and back takes about four hours with picture taking and snack breaks, and it makes for a great outing.
