PLANET X is currently the second biggest bike assembler in the UK and all our bikes are designed by us, manufactured by carefully selected factories and assembled right here in Sheffield. We’re proud of our products and we take a great deal of care over every step in the process.

Where are ENVE carbon wheels made?
Ogden, Utah
We’re proud to manufacture our rims and wheelsets by hand in Ogden, Utah, USA but not simply out of patriotism. At ENVE, everything related to our rim and wheel production is under the roof of our new state-of-the-art facility: manufacturing, assembly, design, R&D, our test lab, customer support and the business team.
Why are carbon rims so expensive?
The molds are expensive. They also need equipment to inflate the bladder inside the rim, and a large autoclave for curing. The production takes much longer than aluminium rims. All those make the rim cost much higher.
When should I replace my bike frame?
Depending on the frame material, how well it is maintained, and how hard it is used, bike frames last anywhere from 6 to 40 years. Carbon and titanium bike frames will last the longest with proper care, with some even outlasting their riders.

Does planet9 exist?
Planet Nine is a hypothetical planet in the outer region of the Solar System. While sky surveys such as Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) and Pan-STARRS did not detect Planet Nine, they have not ruled out the existence of a Neptune-diameter object in the outer Solar System.
Where are Titus frames made?
All of our Titanium and Ti/Carbon frames are made in our factory in Tempe. We began manufacturing the 2007 Racer X 29’ers in Portland by Sapa (’07 wa the first production year for the Racer X 29).
Why is Enve so expensive?
In the video Enve claims that they produce a new mold 10 times more often than the rest, meaning maybe something like 100 rims before that mold is destroyed and a new one made, whereas the competition will produce 1000 rims with the same mold and this is a major reason for the expense.
Is Enve made in USA?
All ENVE rims are American-made. Every ENVE rim is still made in America. “The other products that we make in house is our carbon hub shells for our carbon road hubs. We also make our carbon mountain and road bike stems here.
How long do carbon wheelsets last?
This is a good question and one that merits explanation, given that many of us grew up on a 3-5 year lifespan expectation from alloy. The short answer is that a carbon rim is expected to last until it is damaged in a way that compromises the bond between resin and carbon fibers.
Are carbon rims stronger than aluminum?
Carbon fiber is an exceptionally light, stiff, and strong material. A carbon wheel is often much lighter and stiffer than a comparable aluminum wheel. Many competitive riders and racers choose carbon because the weight and stiffness improve a bike’s acceleration and handling.
