Are BB30 and PF30 compatible?
BB30 and PF30 are completely different, from the frame perspective. In other words, a PF30 frame needs a PF30 BB, and a B30 frame needs a BB30 BB. However the cranksets are identical, so a BB30 crankset fits a PF30 BB/frame (this was my CX setup for last season).
Are BB30 and PF30 the same?

What PressFit 30?
PressFit-30 (PF30) bottom brackets are a separate component pressed directly into the frame. The bearings are pressed into cups and the cups then pressed into the frame. Originally designed for 30mm spindle cranks, there are many available bottom brackets for 29mm SRAM DUB cranks, 24mm (Shimano, FSA, etc.)

Shimano HollowTech II and GXP cranks can be used in a BB30a frame when using our BB Adapters.

Why does my BB30 creak?
The leading cause of BB30 bottom bracket creaking is bearing migration within the frame bb shell during use. The bearings shift around a minute amount, resulting in the dreaded creaking sounds. Typically somebody greases the bearings to fix it. To fix a bike crank bearing noise one must stop these micro-movements.

A BB30 shell itself is not threaded, instead the bearings press directly into the frame, also known as a direct-fit bearing system.
What kind of spindle does a pressfit 30 use?
The PF30-SHIM adapts 24mm Spindle Cranks (Shimano, FSA, etc.) to work on Pressfit 30 frames. Simply tap the adapters into the 6806 bearing in the BB shell, install the spindle and cranks. Use our Crank Spindle Spacers to adjust your chainline, or take up any side-to-side movement in your cranks.
How big are the spindles on a Shimano PF30?

Specifically designed for installing 24.00mm spindle diameter cranks (Shimano, Etc.) in PF30 (46mm ID BB shell) frames without the need for any adapters.
