What happened to Leupold Custom Shop?
The Custom Shop Is Closed Indefinitely As a true U.S. manufacturer, we’ve had to adapt and prioritize our factory workflow to meet significant market demand while following COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the State of Oregon.
Can you buy direct from Leupold?
At this time, prescription lenses cannot be purchased directly from Leupold. All Katmai, Becnara, Packout, and Switchback models are compatible with prescription lens requirements and can be fitted with prescription lenses through third party eyewear retailers only.
Can Leupold change my reticle?
The Leupold Custom Shop can install a variety of reticle offerings in virtually any Leupold scope; the only modern exception being the Rifleman line.
Why are optics so expensive?
Prior to the heavy competition in the optics market, buyers could feel safe in purchasing optics that cost more than $500 from brands like Aimpoint, Trijicon, and EOTech ultimately because of a few factors: Toughness, faith in ability to hold zero when firing or even after being dropped.
What makes a scope expensive?
In most cases, a pricier scope is going to have more robust construction and more rigid internals than a scope at a lower cost. Great optical resolution and clear lenses don’t mean a thing if the scope won’t hold its zero or adjust reliably.

Can you get a custom scope from Leupold?
Now, through the Leupold Custom Shop, OpticsPlanet can offer several new, exciting solid colors, fades to black, or even a unique “splatter” to any color offered. You can get an amazing looking one-of-a-kind riflescope with Leupold’s custom anodizing processing.
What kind of reticle does Leupold riflescope use?
The Leupold Custom Shop uses an ultra-modern electroform metal deposition process that incorporates micron precision to create your riflescope reticle. This new, custom reticle offered though OpticsPlanet features ballistic compensation, with a 200 yard zero, and dots marking the holdover points for 300, 400 and 500 yards.
Can you change the elevation dial on a Leupold rifle?
Leupold Custom Shop can install the dials of your choice in almost any leupold riflescope (the LPS models being the only exception). We can even change the dials of the Leupold VX-III Long Range M3 to those of the Leopold VX-III Long Range M1. You can have the elevation dial alone changed, or change both.
