Can you empty and reuse vacuum bags?
With a little care, you can reuse paper vacuum bags. In the past, vacuum cleaner bags were made of cloth and could be reused by unzipping and emptying them. The bottom end of the bag is usually folded over a few times and glued shut. To reuse a bag, I carefully unroll the end, trying not to tear the bag.
How often should vacuum bags be changed?
Many vacuum brands recommend changing the bag before it becomes full, at least every three months. The purpose of changing the vacuum bag when you need to is so that your vacuum cleaner is working at an optimal level.
What can I use instead of a vacuum bag?
I used drawstring kitchen bags, but large black garbage bags would work very well, as they are less prone to tearing.
