What is Tuchux?
Primarily a North American phenomenon, Tuchux are barbarian personas named after a nomadic tribe in one book out of a series of books – the “Gor” novels written by John Norman – who owe considerably more to popular depictions of barbarians in 20th century media than to the reality of so-called “barbarian” cultures.

The Pennsic War is an annual American medieval camping event held by the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a “war” between two large regional SCA groups: the Kingdom of the East and the Middle Kingdom.
When was the first Pennsic War?

The first Pennsic War happened in 1972 at Newton’s campground in Waterford, Pennsylvania. From this point on the Pennsic War continued to attract more and more people. By the sixth Pennsic War, the SCA moved the battle to Cooper’s Lake Campgrounds in order to accommodate the 650 people that came that year.

Is Pennsic an SCA event?
Designed as a Medieval “War” between the Kingdoms of the East and the Middle of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Pennsic is also the largest SCA event, with activities include large melee battles, tournaments, archery, stage performances, dancing, and hundreds of classes on medieval topics.
Is Pennsic Cancelled?
The Pennsic War, the Society for Creative Anachronism’s largest event, has been cancelled and rescheduled to 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. The annual medieval encampment draws more than 10,000 people from all over the world to witness the mock war between the SCA’s Kingdom of the East and the Middle Kingdom.
