Is the Remington 7600 discontinued?
The Model 7600 is a progression from the original Model 760 pump-action rifle which Remington produced from 1952 to 1981. Production of the Model Six began in 1981 and was discontinued in 1987. Production of the Sportsman model 76 began in 1985 and was discontinued in 1987….

Is the Remington 7600 still in production?
The company’s assets were acquired by Roundhill Group and production, barring the kind of delays that stalled the originally scheduled March 1 opening, resume April 1, 2020. Unfortunately, a visit to the freshly rebranded RemArms website indicates the 7600 won’t be coming out of the famed Ilion factory anytime soon.
Is the Remington 7600 a good rifle?
The smooth action and dual action bars make for fast handling. The cross-bolt safety is easily manipulated. The 7600 may not be for everyone, but it is certainly a good rifle for those happy with an accurate rifle to be used within 200 yards.
Why are there no pump-action rifles?
Pump rifles are not popular because a pump action excels at quick shots rather than precise ones. Moving the forend to reload throws off the shooting position. This is fine for shotguns, but kind of defeats the point of a rifle.

What does a Remington 760 pump action shotgun look like?
The 760 and 7600 are based on a front locking, rotary locking bolt operated by dual action bars. They have a streamlined, forged steel receiver, two piece stocks and externally look somewhat like a shorter and more slender Model 870 pump action shotgun, although the rifle and shotgun actions are entirely different, as is the stock design.

Which is more accurate a Remington 742 or 7600?
Now, they just claim “Legendary Remington first shot accuracy,” whatever that means. In my limited experience, the 760/7600 pumps have never been quite as accurate as the 742/7400 autoloaders, perhaps because of the pumps moving forend.
