the k20a3 will make power under boost as long as it is custom tuned with kpro or EMS. The actually billet rod in the A3 is good quality, but its the rod bearings and bolts that are crap.

Yes, the k20a2 head can swap directly onto the k20a3. You will need the k20a2 ecu as well or a reprogrammed k20a3 ecu. The issue will be the low compression of the a3 block.

The K20A3 uses only two cam lobe profiles on the inlet. Under 2200 rpm, this engine is a effectively a 12 valve engine, and over 2200 rpm it is a 16 valve. There is no VTEC mechanism on the K20A3 exhaust valves. Basically, this head does not breath well compared to the K20A2.
