The Sixth Floor Museum Opens 1989: After a long decade of controversial development and community soul-searching, on Presidents Day (February 20, 1989), The Sixth Floor Exhibit opened as a response to the many visitors who come to Dealey Plaza to learn more about the assassination.
How do you get to Dealey Plaza?
To reach the museum, you can take the free D-Link bus, or hop on any one of the DART lines to West End station, which connects to all DART lines. The museum sits just three blocks west from the station. You are free to visit and explore Dealey Plaza at any time; there is no admission fee.
Is Dealey Plaza worth visiting?
This site is one of those places that you ‘must see’ if you’re visiting Dallas for the first time but really there isn’t much there. A small monument and crosses in the road showing where the gunshots hit. It’s a place to show your respects rather than a museum.

Can you visit Kennedy’s grave?
The tomb and memorial to President John Fitzgerald Kennedy are located in lot 45, Section 30 of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC). It is a 10-minute walk from the Visitor Center (map) and a 15-minute walk from the Arlington Cemetery Metro Station. You will not be able to drive to the gravesite.
