Is Speedball ink good for fountain pens?
This is an India Ink so it’s not suitable for use in fountain pens. It’s pigmented with 100% carbon black pigment and contains shellac. The ink is designed for drawing and calligraphy. This scan is adjusted for exposure leaving the paper texture.

Assuming the lever moves easily, basic cleaning is just a matter of filling and emptying, repeatedly, with plain water around room temperature. DO NOT force the lever; if it requires more force than flipping a light switch, something is wrong internally (most likely a hardened sac) and the pen requires repair.

Look for the metal grips in the top of the pen holder. There are two open areas in the metal that are the inserts for pen nibs. Notice the line that is molded into the pen nib. Use your fingertips to push the pen nib or tip into the metal slot of the pen holder up to the line that is molded into the nib.
