Are tech bindings safe?

Can you ski resort with tech bindings?
Traditional tech bindings can be skied on the resorts, too, of course. But most people don’t enjoy the rigidity of the interface. Alpine bindings have heel pieces that float and toe pieces that yield before releasing, allowing the ski to flex and offering a bit of elasticity.
How do Dynafit bindings release?
Instead of being a “frame binding,” Dynafit and all other tech bindings use the boot as the connecting device, by building toe and heel connectors into the boot. Vertical safety release is accomplished by the boot heel pulling a triangular metal fitting up though two springy prongs (known as the “heel pins”).
Are 15 year old skis still good?
Skis that are not structurally damaged can last many years, even decades, but those on older skis won’t be benefiting from the latest advancements in ski technology (lighter and improved shapes) that make skiing more fun and less tiring across a greater range of snow conditions.
Do ski bindings need lubrication?
Modern bindings are not designed to be relubed, and do not need it providing that you treat them decently. However the heel track & the AFD (if it’s a sliding one) should be lubed with a silicone lube approx every 30 days of use.
