Does Norway have a King?
Norway is a constitutional monarchy. This means that the King is formally the head of state but that his duties are mainly representative and ceremonial. When the Constitution states that: “the executive power is vested in the King”, this now means that it is vested in the Government.

Norway has a constitution, which was adopted on 17 May 1814. The position of prime minister is the result of legislation. As of 2021, the prime minister of Norway is Jonas Gahr Støre, of the Labour Party, replacing Erna Solberg of Conservative Party, who resigned in October 2021.
