A cabin for one is designed for one person. There are two types of cabins for one: Upper: requires the passenger to step up into the sleeping compartment, from the main floor of the car. Lower: on the same level as the rest of the sleeping car.

These cars are always found at the end of the Canadian and the Jasper-Prince Rupert, but during the summer, they may also be found at the end of the Ocean and occasionally, the Winnipeg-Churchill as well. Each room is equipped with private washroom, which includes a sink and toilet.
