Date and Time of the switch-on The switch-on will begin tonight (Friday, September 3) and will mark the beginning of the Blackpool Illuminations season. The official time for the switch on tonight is 8.50pm and will last into Saturday morning where they’ll be turned off for the day at 1am.

For 2021, a special concert in the Tower Ballroom will kick-start the four month extended stay of the bright lights down Blackpool’s seafront. The Tower will host performances from KSI, The Wombats, Ella Henderson, and Wes Nelson.
