Is Chicago Botanic Garden free?
Admission is free. Parking fee applies. The Garden would like to thank our active duty U.S. military personnel and/or their families, reservists, and former POWs for their years of service with free parking. Please present your ID at the entry gatehouse (one car/van vehicle per entry).

Can you bring alcohol to Chicago Botanic Gardens?
The consumption of alcohol not purchased on the premises is prohibited at the Chicago Botanic Garden. We do have wine and beer for sale in our Garden View Café. Bring it to your picnic.
Can you take pictures at Chicago Botanic Garden?
Individual photographers are welcome to photograph the plants and gardens of the Chicago Botanic Garden for their personal use and enjoyment. No commercial use is allowed, and no compensation may be received for plant or Garden images.
Can you walk into Chicago Botanic Garden?
Rather than charge admission per person, Chicago Botanic Garden charges a parking fee. Their facility is open to walk-in or bicycle-in visitors, but the area around the garden is either major streets with no parking or residential streets with parking limits.

The Morton Arboretum allows two people per car with valid Chicago Botanic Garden membership card.
Can you take pictures at the Morton Arboretum?
The Morton Arboretum is the ideal picture-perfect setting for any portrait. A permit is required for all posed and formal photography or video recording. Photo permits are good for one hour and are subject to availability. Your permit fee includes your permit, gate admission, and parking for everyone in your party.
Can you ride a bike in the Botanic Gardens?
Please note that riding of bicycles in the gardens is not permitted. Dedicated bicycle parking is available at Observatory Gate.
Can you run at the Chicago Botanic Garden?
Biking, running, or walking through McDonald Woods will also allow visitors to experience some of the mystery of the Garden’s woodland areas. The asphalt path is 10 feet wide and a mile long on Garden and FPCC property.
Is Morton Arboretum open during Covid?
The Morton Arboretum is fully open to members and guests with timed-entry admission. As always, we follow state and local public health guidelines.
Are masks required at Morton Arboretum?
Do I need to wear a mask when visiting the Arboretum? Masks are required indoors by the State of Illinois, regardless of vaccination status. This includes the Visitor Center, The Arboretum Store, the Plant Clinic, Sterling Morton Library, and the Thornhill Education Center.
