Can any laptop run OBS?
Intel/nVidia laptops seem to work a lot better with OBS in my experience, so I would recommend an i5 or i7 and an nVidia GPU that ends in -50 or higher.

It *can* – but it really depends what you want to be recording/streaming at the time, along with the generation of the i3. Especially with older i3s, any title that requires significant CPU resources will likely not run too well, with OBS requiring some of those resources to be shared.

Is i3 good enough for streaming?
the i3 should have enough power for those things. I’ve seen machines do that stuff with an Atom processor, so the i3 should be fine. Of course, if you can afford the i5, it will be faster!
Is 8GB of RAM good for OBS?
If you are just playing the game, 8GB should be enough for it to run smoothly. But when you want to stream, you may want to add more RAM as your encoder will also take up some of your resources. If you want to use Facebook Live, that’s a total of three applications needed to stream your game.
