The Rose. The Nineteenth Century French rose, General Jacqueminot, a deep red rose, was chosen as the flower of Alpha Omicron Pi because its color is the symbol of the central and essential virtue of the Fraternity.
What is AOII mascot?
Our Mascot The Panda Bear. In 1976, AOII adopted the Panda Bear as our unofficial mascot, then RT&J voted to make the panda our official mascot during International Convention 2017. AOII donates hundreds of pandas every year to children attending annual Juvenile Arthritis (JA) Conferences and camps.
What is AOII philanthropy?
Alpha Omicron Pi’s official philanthropy is Juvenile Arthritis and Arthritis Research. AOII also participates in many community service projects, such as participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and raising money for Big Brother/Big Sister and My Sister’s Place Women’s Shelter.

Why does AOII not have a crest?
AOII does not have a crest because we were founded on Greek, rather than medieval, ideals. In its place we use the image of a rose.
Why is AOII a panda?
Why a panda bear? While not an official symbol, the Fraternity and most chapters consider the panda to be AOII’s mascot. Known for having no enemies, the panda was a great choice to help define our desire to work for the betterment of communities.
