What is ACLAR material?
ACLAR® is crystal clear, biochemically inert, highly resistant to most chemicals and sterilizable by heat or radiation. ACLAR® is used widely in pharmaceutical, medical, sensitive electronics and military packaging. ACLAR® 33C is a copolymer film consisting primarily of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE).
What is ACLAR used for?
Traditionally, Aclar® is used in pharmaceutical, medical, electronics, and military packaging. Aclar® has been used to prepare sealed bags for low-oxygen level pest eradication.
Is ACLAR a plastic?
A flexible thermoplastic fluoropolymer film with high optical clarity and a smooth surface. ACLAR Film provides an oxygen barrier when flat embedding specimens for electron microscopy and light microscopy. It separates easily from epoxy and is chemically inert.
How big is a sheet of Aclar 33C film?
ACLAR® 33C film is now available in 7.8 mil (199µm) thickness and it is offered in a 8” x 10” sheet form with package quantities of 10 or 25. (These are only typical values and are not to be interpreted as product specifications):
How big is an Aclar ultrx 2000 sheet?
ACLAR® UltRx 2000 film is available in 2 (51µm) mil thickness and it is offered in a 11.69” x 8.27” sheet form with package quantities of 10 or 25. (These are only typical values and are not to be interpreted as product specifications):
How many material does Aclar have in matweb?
ACLAR® has 5 material (s) in the MatWeb database. Please read our License Agreement regarding materials data and our Privacy Policy. Questions or comments about MatWeb? Please contact us at [email protected].
What are the different types of Aclar films?
ACLAR® is made from fluorinated-chlorinated resins. There are four basic film types–the homopolymer ACLAR® Rx Series, the copolymers ACLAR® 22A and 33C and the new ACLAR® Cx. (Honeywell/Allied Signal). The chemical make-up of all ACLAR® products provide an exceptional moisture barrier.
