What is involved in an Npqml?
The NPQML programme is modular covering 3 areas – educational excellence, operational management and strategic leadership, and involves the successful completion of two essential modules and one elective module.

Is the Npqml worth doing?
Yes, the existing NPQML will continue to be considered a good quality and respected qualification. Over time, all qualifications are reviewed and updated and your NPQML will not be diminished.
How long does an Npqml take?

Does Npqh count towards a masters?
The NPQH qualification is aligned to Masters credits and can act as a springboard on to Liverpool Hope University’s MA in Leading in Education or the MBA in Educational Leadership.

National Professional Qualification (NPQ): Senior Leadership NPQSL gives candidates all of the essential knowledge, skills and concepts that underpin successful senior leadership. Participants will cover ‘learn that’ and ‘learn how to’ statements in ten areas: 1 – School Culture. 2 – Teaching.
How many credits is a Npqml?
For those entering with National College of Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) awards, the following APEL claims can be made: NPQML – 40 credits.
Can you fail Npqml?
If you receive a final outcome of a ‘fail’ you will be provided with feedback and given a further opportunity to submit, as part of a future assessment window. There will be no charge for this first re-submission.
What is replacing Npqml?
NPQML is to be replaced by 3 specialist NPQs which have been included for teachers who want to deepen their expertise in specialist areas: NPQ for Leading Teaching (NPQLT) NPQ for Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC) NPQ for Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD)
How much is an Npqml?
To complete the full NPQML award, delivery partners must purchase all 12 modules. Each module costs £210+VAT to deliver per cohort to a maximum of 20 participants. The assessment fee for the NPQML award is £275+VAT per participant.
Is Npqsl a Level 7 qualification?
Whist NPQH and NPQSL are nationally-recognised qualifications, they do not necessarily confer Level 7 credits as this depends on the individual NPQ provider’s arrangements for awarding Level 7 credit.
When do the new NPQ frameworks come out?
These frameworks are for the reformed national professional qualifications ( NPQ) that will be available from autumn 2021. They have been developed in consultation with an expert advisory group from across the education system.
