Can you make bass ukulele?
Some of you may find it easier to shape a solid piece of wood compared to shaping a hollow acoustic body, but of course that’s up to your personal preference. If you have a few pieces of wood that you can’t use for larger long scale builds, constructing a solid-body bass uke is a good way to make use of that material.
Is there a bass uke?
Bass ukuleles, which are slightly smaller (around 30″), play the same open notes as a standard bass guitar (EADG), but ONE OCTAVE UP. Contrabass ukuleles, which are slightly larger (around 32″), also play the same notes (EADG), but at the same octave as a standard bass.

You should be able to get EADG tuning on a baritone but it would be two octaves higher than a bass guitar and you would have to combine string sets to get a suitable first G string.

Is a bass ukulele tuned the same as a bass guitar?
The bass ukulele is tuned exactly like an upright bass or bass guitar, E-A-D-G. This is one full octave lower than the first four strings of a regular guitar, and two and a half octaves below standard ukulele tuning (g-c-e-a).
Is a baritone ukulele the same as a bass ukulele?
In the last few years, a new size ukulele has been developed: bass ukulele. These are bigger than the baritone, but they can only be heard through a pickup, which adds more power to your sound. Bass ukuleles have the same tuning as electric ukes (see below), but they’re much shorter.

Why is baritone ukulele tuned differently?
Tuning a baritone ukulele is completely different than tuning any other type of ukulele. Standard baritone ukulele tuning is DGBE, the actual notes being D3 G3 B3 E4, from low to high. As you tune, you can tighten the strings until you hear the correct pitch.
How is baritone ukulele string?
The Baritone Ukulele is also strung in an ascending order of pitch. This means that when strummed from the top down, the open strings ascend from lowest pitch to highest pitch, with the “D” string as the lowest and the “E” string as the highest. This is referred to in music as a Linear Tuning.
