- Normal wallpapers including lining paper : Mix with 7L of cold water – Approx.
- Washable and vinyl wallpaper : Mix with 5.5L of cold water – Approx.
- Textured and blown vinyl : Mix with 4.5L of cold water – Approx.
- Embossed wallpapers : Mix with 4.5L of cold water – Approx.
How much water do I mix with Solvite wallpaper adhesive?
For standard embossed we recommend 8 pints/4.5L for 4-5 rolls. For heavy embossed we recommend 7 pints/4L for 3-4 rolls.
How do you use all-purpose wallpaper adhesive?
Soak heavy and embossed paper until supple. Paste generously, particularly the edges, and do not overspread. Take care to avoid getting adhesive on the patterned side of the paper, removing any splashes with a damp sponge. When applying paste the wall wallpapers apply paste directly onto the surface to be papered.

Cold water paste is suitable for most types of wallpaper and can be mixed to different strengths depending on the weight of the paper. As it’s water-soluble, it is one of the easiest types of adhesive to remove.
How do you mix wallpaper size?
The modern way of sizing is to prepare a runny mix of paste, roll the wall area and brush in around the edges. You’ll see the filler darken when you apply the paste. This is good because the filler is absorbing the paste now, and won’t be able to suck the paste off the back of the wallpaper later.
