Can Commando go OCS?
The path of entering OCS for us, Commandos, was very different from the rest of the cohort. We underwent a gruelling 10 weeks Commando Small-Unit Leader Course (CSLC) and had to be among the top of the course to qualify for OCS. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience in OCS.
What is Shro?
The full-time national serviceman’s (NSF) commando unit is part of the Army Standby Force, and all of its servicemen need to serve a 14-day Stay Home Restriction Order (SHRO) before going back to camp.

You must be an active duty or Army National Guard Soldier. You must qualify for airborne training. You must meet the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) minimum standard of 49 pushups, 59 sit-ups, 15:12 (two-mile run), six pull-ups. You must be eligible for a Secret security clearance.

How hard is Commando training?
As the longest infantry training in NATO, it’s fair to say that the Commando course is anything but basic. The course ends with the infamous 30-mile ‘yomp’ across Dartmoor, carrying full kit weighing 32lbs. The yomp is known for being one of the most physically challenging tests to exist in any military.

What is 18X in the army?
Army MOS 18X is the broad term used to describe the Special Forces branch. The Army Special Forces represent an important segment of the military with the most highly skilled combat soldiers. MOS 18X soldiers are extraordinarily well-trained, with both excellent physical fitness and mental fortitude.
