Do you have to wear a mask at Colchester Zoo?
Do visitors have to wear a face mask to visit Colchester Zoo? From the 19th July, face coverings are no longer mandatory however we encourage these to still be warn particularly in indoor areas such as our Entrance, Gift Shop, Guest Services, Catering Outlets, Lost Madagascar Lemur Walkthrough and indoor viewing areas.

There are loads of eating places in the zoo and lots of picnic areas if you wish to bring your own food. The shops by the exit are great, with a massive variety of products. For children, there are also several good play parks within the grounds, including an inside play area.

Please note that no dogs are allowed into the park, with the exception of Registered Assistance Dogs. Any visits with Registered Assistance Dogs must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance. Photography for commercial use is not permitted without the expressed permission of Colchester Zoo.
Does Colchester Zoo sell lion poo?
Colchester Zoo does not buy images taken of the animals. Do you sell Lion/Big Cat dung as a deterrent for foxes? We do, however, sell “Zoo Poo” which is a herbivore based manure from our Elephants and Rhinos, which is good for the garden.
