What is Targocid used for?
It contains a medicine called ‘teicoplanin’. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infections in your body. Targocid is used in adults and children (including newborn babies) to treat bacterial infections of: the skin and underneath the skin – sometimes called ‘soft tissue’

Targocid 400mg Injection is an antibiotic used in the treatment of severe bacterial infections in hospitalized patients. It is effective against infections of the respiratory tract (eg. pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, heart, blood, and others.
How do you take Targocid 400MG?
DIRECTIONS FOR USE TARGOCID 400MG will be administered by your doctor or nurse. It will be given by injection into a vein (intravenous use) or muscle (intramuscular use) or given through bolus or 30 minute infusion.

Preparation of reconstituted solution: The solution is reconstituted by adding 3.14 mL of water for injection to the 200 mg and 400 mg powder vial. The water is slowly added to the vial which should be rotated until all the powder is dissolved to avoid foaming.

Take teicoplanin trough plasma level directly before 6th dose is given. Skin and soft tissue infections: pre-dose (trough) 15-30mg/L, but less than 60mg/L.
