Is rub on wax bad for a snowboard?
No. Don’t use rub on wax. It’s a waste of money and you’ll be lucky if the wax lasts more than a few runs. Rub on wax is designed as a temporary solution and it comes off after 2-3 runs leaving you just as slow as before you rubbed on the wax.
How long does factory wax last on snowboard?

yes it comes from the factory pre-waxed but its usually not very good quality wax. you do not need to tune/sharpen your edges. this is done from the factory. do not detune your edges if your not riding park.
Should a beginner wax their snowboard?
If your first outing with your new toy is going to be a brief one – like 1 or 2 days on the mountain then your need for a wax before you get started isn’t as crucial. However, if you are going for a week-long trip or longer then it may pay to go for that hot wax.
