What does Ahims stand for?
The Aboriginal Heritage Information Management System (AHIMS) contains records of Aboriginal Places and objects, referred to as Aboriginal sites.
What is Ahims search?
AHIMS is made up of an electronic database of recorded Aboriginal sites across NSW, and an archive of related documentation and reports. The OEH states that AHIMS currently contains over 60,000 records relating to Aboriginal culture and heritage across NSW.
How can I record a site in AHIMS?
You can also import extensive searches obtained in AHIMS. These imported records can be viewed in the mobile app and used in the field to locate sites previously recorded in AHIMS. If you can’t access the mobile app or quarantine station to record a site, you can use the AHIMS Aboriginal Site Recording Form.
How is AHIMS web services system making it more secure?
Map interface will now allow change of base maps. Users that do not pay their invoices will be disabled from accessing the system. Issues with the batch search have been fixed. Users can now enter registration details that include non binary gender. We are making the AHIMS Web Services System more secure by adhering to the latest security protocols
When to use acims data in a report?
If information from ACIMS is used in the preparation of a report or other document, ESRD / ACIMS should be prominently acknowledged at the beginning of the document. The ACIMS data provided here are current only as of the most recent update displayed. Data are updated and posted to the website as new information warrants.
Is the AHIMS mobile app free to download?
The AHIMS site recording mobile app is a free download. It has been developed by Heritage NSW to make site recording consistent and easier. It also enables us to update AHIMS more efficiently and improve the accuracy of data.
