How early can you get a scan? You can get a private early pregnancy scan at 6 – 12 weeks. By 6 weeks the doctor should be able to see your baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound scan. The heartbeat will be visualised and not heard at this stage.

Car parking spaces for patients and visitors at the hospital are limited. On weekdays from 8am until 5pm, parking is limited to a small number of short stay parking bays (30 minutes and one hour). There are 20 one hour bays have a no return within two hour restriction. These bays have a three hour maximum parking.

For further information please call 020 8510 7861 or email [email protected] Patients will be seen by a nurse and an ultrasound scan will be performed in order to visualise the pregnancy. The scan may be done externally through the abdomen, or internally through the vagina.
Where can I make an appointment with the Epau?
Appointments can be made by GPs, ED (fast track) or other health professionals by telephoning the receptionist on 020 8510 7861, or via the online form on C&H CCG website. EPAU referral form Self-referrals are accepted however, due to the current situation we are only accepting emergency referrals.
Can a partner stay at the Epau during MVA?
Partners will not be allowed in the clinic room during procedures, including MVA but if you require to stay in the unit following the procedure, your partner will be allowed to stay with you. The EPAU is our Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and is located in the Women’s Health Centre in Tuke Ward.
