Is Chrono Cross a direct sequel to Chrono Trigger?
Cross is a direct continuation of Trigger’s themes from minute one. It’s mostly disliked for the way it handles its continuity with Chrono Trigger. It’s generally not a good idea to take a simple and fun story about time travel and try and turn its sequel into a convoluted navel gazing fest.

Almost no Square game is hard. Chrono Trigger is balanced enough to where you have to try but not kill yourself to win battles. It’s a nice middleground that makes the game fun because there are a lot of ways to aproach battles.

Why is Crimson Echoes called Peach Mountain Shoguns?
ZeaLitY proposed the team behind Crimson Echoes be called “Peach Mountain Shoguns” (in addition to Kajar Laboratories) as a nod to Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon, an incredibly surreal game in the Ganbare Goemon series with flashy villains who used the same name.
