Does Southern rail run on Christmas Day?
SOUTHERN: Reduced service from 7pm on Christmas Eve. No service on Christmas Day. Very limited service Boxing Day, and reduced service on 27 December. Normal timetable 28-31 December.
Are there trains on the 26th December?
26 December: No Tube or rail services will be running to/from Heathrow, including Heathrow Express services. Use bus, replacement coaches from Hammersmith or third-party coach and Taxi / Private Hire services.
Are underground trains running on Christmas Day?
Unfortunately for anyone hoping to use the underground to get about, the tube does not run on Christmas Day. As well as the tube, buses, TFL Rail, London Overground, DLR, Trams, River boats and National Rail services also do not run on Christmas Day.
Do trains run on Christmas?
Trains do operate on Christmas Eve, but they may not run a full schedule. Many train companies will have an app or website where you can plan or track a journey and note any changes to the service. Trains do not run on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, however, there will be some coaches running.
Do trains run on a bank holiday?
Yes they do, although some timetables may be reduced, or some lines closed completely, due to engineering works taking place over the bank holiday weekend.
Is the South Western Railway free on New Years Eve?
A significantly reduced service will operate. On New Years Eve, there is usually free travel on the TfL network, plus South Western Railway usually schedule additional services through the night. But with the annual fireworks cancelled, the last trains will leave London Waterloo pre-midnight as normal.
Are there any train services on Christmas Day?
If you must travel, this is what you need to know: Christmas Eve. Train services run as usual but may end a bit earlier on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day. No services run on Christmas Day. Boxing Day. No services run on Boxing Day, except for a handful of airport transfer services.
Are there any changes to the train timetable?
