There is no campground at the Carmel River State Beach. Know Before You Go – Prior to leaving home, check the status of the park unit you want to visit to find out what restrictions and guidelines are in place. Have a back-up plan in case your destination is crowded.

For your convenience there is a general store located in our office, which offers non-perishable groceries, cold soft drinks, and RV supplies. Clean bathrooms and hot showers are also available for your comfort. The Carmel River is a natural area and is not accessible from the park.
Where is the closest water in Carmel by the sea?
The closest access to water is Carmel Beach, located off of Scenic Road in Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea which is 8 miles West from our location (10 minute drive – not in walking distance from our park). The town is very small and has narrow roads, so there is no RV parking available.
Is the Carmel River accessible from Garland ranch?
Clean bathrooms and hot showers are also available for your comfort. The Carmel River is a natural area and is not accessible from the park. River access is available nearby at Garland Ranch Regional Park, a short drive away. We offer a variety of site types to fit your needs.
