What can I expect at Navy ODS?
ODS is a five-week program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers. They will learn about the military structure of the U.S. Navy, its rich history of traditions and customs, leadership development and military etiquette.
How much do you run at ODS?
For the first two weeks students will run approximately 1.5 miles each run day. During week three and part of week four students will run approximately three miles each run day. During the remainder of week four and all of week five students will run four miles each run day.
Do you get paid at ODS?
10+ Year Member Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) will depend on whether you have dependants or not. If you don’t you will get $0.45 per day for housing while at ODS, otherwise you will get BAH based on the zip code of your school. At a minimum you will get a little over $4100 in pay and allowances.
What is the difference between OCS and ODS?
OCS is generally line officers, SWO, SEALs, Pilots, Subs. ODS is staff, Doctors, JAG, nurse, Chaplin. ODS is shorter (5 weeks vs 12) and less demanding.

Can you go to ODS pregnant?
(1) Pregnant officers are not authorized to attend ODS. Officers who become pregnant prior to completion of ODS requirements must immediately request a waiver. The request should cover the entire pregnancy and all pregnancy-related MAS codes must be cleared before the member can attend ODS.
Do you get Bah while at ODS?

Is there free time the first few days at ODS?
Your first few days at ODS, there will be NO free time. We were busy from the time we got up till when we went to bed. Also, after the first few busy days, you will sometimes have things like grad practice or drill in the evenings. Just be prepared to be flexible with your time.
