This story is about a teenage boy who starts off a regular slacker teenager who has to do a school assignment to pass a class. However, due to fear, some smallpox scabs, and too much self-diagnosis, Mitty starts to think he may have contracted the deadly disease, and he develops psychosomaticsymptoms.

Mitty’s main conflict is dealing with the fact that he may have smallpox and it can just pop up on his skin any day and kill him by the next day. Then he finds out he doesn’t have smallpox and can’t get it from old scabs.
