The Government declared the NBN rollout was formally complete late in 2020. The NBN is a patchwork of ever-upgrading technologies and more alternatives appear each year, making it difficult to know what’s best.

Is there an NBN shortage?
Due to the global chip shortage crippling the industry, NBN was forced to temporarily pause the connection of most new customers to the NBN network via HFC technology. NBN says it has reconnected more than 47,000 premises to the NBN network via HFC technology since 2 February 2021.

Why is there no nbn connection box?
There is no need for a NBN connection box. NBN connection boxes are only used on FTTP, Fixed radio and Hybrid coaxial connections. If you are in a suburb that has just become NBN ready then if you have an existing ADSL service the NBN connection will probably be using FTTN. FTTC or FTTB technology.
Do I take my nbn box when I move?

Why is my house not on the NBN rollout map?
If your area already has the ability to connect to services over the nbn ™ network and you still can’t see your premises on the rollout map, please contact your preferred phone and internet provider so they can lodge a missing address request with us.
When does my address appear on the NBN map?
If your home is a pre-existing premises and the nbn ™ network build is still underway, your address will automatically update to appear in the map when the area goes live.
Is the NBN network available in my building?
The nbn ™ broadband access network is not currently available in your building. We have made several attempts to initiate the process of establishing an nbn ™ access network connection to your building, however we have been unsuccessful in our engagement with the building’s authorised representative. We’re planning to change your nbn ™ technology.
What does purple mean on the NBN map?
The purple shading indicates an area where most premises should be able to connect to services over the nbn ™ network, however some premises may have additional work that needs to be completed first. There are also some premises in Australia that cannot connect to the nbn ™ network.
