What does a flip kit do?
A flip kit is designed to move the rear axle of your truck from being underneath the leaf spring pack to being on top of the leaf spring pack. This will generally give about six inches of lowering to the back of your truck. That measurement will be within 1/4 inch of the amount of lowering you will get with a flip kit.
How much does AC notch cost?
Registered. A local portland shop will do a c-notch (parts & labor) for $350. Belltech for the bolt in. They’ll also do a weld in for the same price.
Do you need AC notch for a flip kit?
A flip kit doesnt come with drop shackles and will give you about a 5in drop. If the leafs have not been altered and you remove the bumpstop mount you shouldnt hit the frame. If you add the 2in drop shackles you will have a 7in drop wich will require a c-notch in the frame for clearance.
Why do you c notch a frame?
C notch is when you cut out a section of the frame above the axle so the axle can actually rest in the chassis a little.
What is notching a frame?
When people get their frame notched, it’s because (in most cases) the frame rests on top of the passenger side axle at 0 psi. This causes the passenger side to sit slightly higher than the driver side giving the car a crooked look when air’d out. Also over time it can lead to broken axles.

Registered. With a 4/6, the straight forward blunt answer is NO you do not need to notch the frame. With 4/7, its 50/50 because you are an inch closer to frame on axle bangbros.
