Surgical technologists pass an exam through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) to be considered a Certified Surgical Technician (CST). This certification is referred to as a “Tech in Surgery – Certified” or TS-C (NCCT). Applicants to this certification must also pass an exam.
