What is a Datacron Matrix Cube?
By equipping a Matrix Cube, the character gets blessed with various stat boosts similar to how uniquely colored Datacrons also permanently bestow certain stat boosts. However, the player can choose to mix together a certain color combinations of Matrix Shards to yield a specific stat increase.
What do I do with matrix shards?
A single matrix shard serves no purpose, but in sets of three they can prove extremely valuable to the player in the form of a Matrix Cube via an Assembler. They are used to make Relics that enhance your Character Attributes by equipping them in the Relic Slot of your Character.
Where are matrix shards in swtor?

Where is the datacron in docking bay D-61?
Go south from the main area of the Spaceport to get to Docking Bay D-61 via the elevator. The datacron is atop a stack of shipping containers. You can’t reach it from the ground, so you have to walk about halfway up the ramp in the room until you see a stack of crates on your right.
What happens when you use a datacron in SWTOR?
When you find a datacron it has the glowing quest triangle icon above it, though that doesn’t show up on the minimap, and using it will give you one of two things: either a small permanent bonus to one of your stats, or a matrix shard.
