Are a1 Cardone axles any good?
Don’t feel bad about purchasing the GKN it is a VERY good axle (IMO the best one). It’s the one I always recommend to people. The outer boots obvious is the #1 thing to go on the axels but the inner axle on the cheaper brands are soft and again will fail on some point.

Are CV joints weak?
The weak point in CV shafts is the boot. After years and miles of turning and bumping up and down with the suspension the boots weaken and begin to tear. A torn CV boot allows the grease to leave the joint and road dirt, water and other contaminates to enter the joint.
Is the a1-cardone CV axle a junk car?
A1-Cardone is junk 99.999% of the time. I’ve had experience with Cardone Select on a Tercel and Civic, they worked fine. Really strange both your front outer axles are spewing grease. I’ve never seen one fail that quickly.
Can you reboot a Cardone select front axle?
You can clean, grease and reboot them. FYI the front axles are the exact same, except for the inner cup that goes to the diff. So if you have a good drivers and bad passengers spare, you can take the inner boot clamps off, swap the inner joint cups and now you have a good passenger axle. I assume you got the Cardone Select (brand new units)?
Is there a lifetime warranty on AutoZone CV axles?
The GKN axles are already on their way. I would have redone my original axles, but they were really seized into the splines and during the removal process the threads for the axle nut got all mangled. After a year and a half the Autozone axles are still doing great, lifetime warranty $200 for both.
What kind of CVS does a GM 5 speed axle use?
All of the GM 5-speed axles for our car use ball & cage CVs inner and outer, but the automatic axles use tripod inners. We used a tripod inner joint to rebuild one of our axles at the track last race, because it was all we could come up with, and it worked fine the next day, but I’m wondering why GM made the axles different.
