The Engineering Council, Sri Lanka is thereby made responsible for the:
- Maintenance of professional standards and conduct of engineering practitioners.
- Registration of different categories of engineering practitioners, and.
- To provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
What is a CEng degree?
Chartered Engineers (CEng) develop solutions to engineering problems using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and change and/or they may have technical accountability for complex systems with significant levels of risk.
Is CEng a qualification?
The CEng qualification is a protected title, with an international brand recognition and a benchmark. For registration as a CEng, candidates must demonstrate that they are professionally competent through education, training and professional practice.
Who are the members of the Engineering Council?
The Engineering Council is the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession. We hold the national registers of over 222,000 Engineering Technicians (EngTech), Incorporated Engineers (IEng), Chartered Engineers (CEng) and Information and Communications Technology Technicians (ICTTech).
Is the Engineering Council part of the EAB?
The Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) is made up of the professional engineering institutions licensed by the Engineering Council to accredit academic programmes for both Incorporated Engineer and Chartered Engineer status.
