How do you complete synth retention?
Fallout 4: Synth Retention – Libertalia, Reclaim the Synth
- Talk to Father. After completing the Main Quest: Institutionalized, return to the Institute using your Pip-boy relay, and speak with Father in his quarters.
- Meet Up with the Courser.
- Reclaim the Rogue Synth.
- Return to Father.
- Visit your Quarters.
Is synth retention a main quest?
Synth Retention is an Institute main quest in Fallout 4.
Where are my quarters in the institute?
Your quarters are on the third floor of the next tower clockwise, which has the clock icon. From the stairway, there is a hallway with a living quarters on each side.
Where do I meet up with the courser?
Speak to Father for your first official Institute quest. He will direct you to meet up with a Courser at the far east end of the map, easy to reach with the waypoint indicator. Depending on how much you’ve served other factions, you might find the Courser in the middle of a firefight. Help him.
Can you save Gabriel Fallout 4?
During the initial conversation upon meeting Gabriel, the Sole Survivor may utilize the recall code provided by X6-88 to disable the synth before he can fight back. One can kill Gabriel before X6-88 utilizes the recall code.
How do you get the best ending in Fallout 4?
You have two options for continuing this ending:
- Destroy the Railroad with the Brotherhood and help reactivate Liberty Prime by building parts.
- Complete Institute quests including destroying the Railroad, but betray the Mass Fusion plan by dobbing to the Brotherhood.

Is Shaun really father?
Shaun, also known as Father, is the son of the Sole Survivor and is the leader of the Institute in 2287. He serves as the primary antagonist of Fallout 4 unless the player character chooses to side with him.

It was of minor consequence when meeting up with Father after the mission. He can be found at the CIT Ruins, at the top of the CIT Rotunda which you can reach by going into the ruins. After you explain yourself to Father, the quest will conclude.
