Why should I attend ASHP Midyear?
The primary reason ASHP Midyear gets so much attention is because it is an epicenter for making connections between candidates and programs for post-graduate pharmacy training (i.e., residency and fellowship). According to the 2016 data, 4,011 residency positions were offered to 5,729 participating applicants.
Does midyear have a hyphen?
The status of prefix means that mid- forms one word in combination, unless it is joined to a capital letter or a numeral, in which case a hyphen is employed: midsentence, midcentury; but mid-July, mid-1985.

- Pharmacists who are licensed to practice in the United States or its Territories, and pharmacists who reside outside of the U.S.
- Pharmacy students.
- Residents participating in a PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs.
- Retired pharmacists who are 65 or more years old.
Do you have to go to midyear?
And if you’re doing PPS, you need to go to Midyear. Several fellowships may also have social events/receptions after their interviews – if you’re invited to attend, it’s a great way to get to know the people involved with the fellowship! Many fellowships offer phone interviews as an alternative to PPS.
