Are thermarest worth the money?

Are thermarest worth the money?

Yes, it’s worth it. I, too, sleep on my side (actually both side, back, toss ‘n turn). Won’t trade my NeoAir for any other pad (except other NeoAirs!). Just got an Xtherm for cold weather, but my Xlite works fine in most temps I’ve been in.

Can you use thermarest XTherm in summer?

From a physics point of view, yes the Xtherm will sleep warmer in the summer than the xlite. However, you may not notice it because as the ground temperature approaches your body temperature the insulating value (R factor) will play a smaller role.

Is the XTherm too warm for summer?

It makes no difference to me in the summer or the winter…as it doesn’t make you any warmer than you already are. It does not generate warmth, and the ground is warm enough in the summer anyway such that less R value won’t really provide any “coolness” anyway.

How do you store XTherm?

Stow It. For our foam self-inflating mattresses, proper storage is essential for future performance. Keeping your mattress flat with the valve open is the way to go. If you have an air mattress, simply roll it up tight and tuck it away for the winter.

How long does thermarest last?

My orange Thermarests lasted about 26 seasons or regular use, were always stored rolled and inflated by mouth. I had patched them a couple of times with the provided kit. Ultimately, the rubberized bladder coating fails and they just won’t hold air. Our REI thermarest knock-offs are 4 seasons old and doing fine.

Can sleeping pads be too hot?

An effective sleeping pad can make you feel too hot if you have excessive bedding. A sleeping pad is meant to insulate you from the ground, and if it’s working properly, your body heat gets trapped in combination with warm bedding. To adjust the temperature, you can remove bedding.

What is the R-value for sleeping pads?

A sleeping pad’s R-value measures its capacity to resist heat flow through it (hence the “R”). The higher a pad’s R-value, the better it will insulate you from cold surfaces. Sleeping pad R-values range from less than 2 (minimally insulated) to 5.5 or more (very well insulated).

Can I wash sleeping pad?

To clean your pad: Never put your pad in a washing machine. Make sure the valve is closed!!! Wash in warm water with a mild hand soap or a gear wash. Make sure your pad is fully dry prior to storing it.

What do you need to know about neoair xtherm Max?

Like all Therm-a-Rest pads, the NeoAir XTherm MAX is made in market to ensure quality and minimize environmental impact. The pad includes a breath-saving pump sack, compact stuff sack and field repair kit.

What’s the difference between xtherm Max and xterm Max?

The width of the XTherm MAX and the standard XTherm are the same at the shoulders. The XTerm MAX is a rectangular sleeping pad. However, the standard XTherm pad is a semi-rectangular, or mummy bag, shape.

How big is the Rei xtherm sleeping pad?

REI specs list regular size of xtherm and xtherm max as the same dimensions: Regular: 72 x 20 x 2.5 inches. But different weight. Im confused.

What’s the difference between a xterm Max and a mummy bag?

The XTerm MAX is a rectangular sleeping pad. However, the standard XTherm pad is a semi-rectangular, or mummy bag, shape. This results in less material being used on the standard XTherm pad. Helpful?
