Does Kelo-Cote really work?
Kelo-cote® has demonstrated efficacy on raised and/ or reddish coloured scars regardless of their age. It may help to soften and flatten raised scars and reduce redness or discolouration associated with them. 1,4,5 It has also been shown to reduce itching or irritation.

If you continue to see improvement at the end of the 90 days you can continue treating your scar. For older scars it is likely that you will need to continue for longer than 90 days.
Does KELO-COTE scar gel expire?
Kelo-cote does not expire as long as you store it with the lid on.
How do you use KELO-COTE?
Apply a very thin layer of KELO-COTE® onto the scar twice a day, do not rub in. KELO-COTE® self-dries within 5 minutes* forming a flexible, waterproof, transparent** layer – remove any excess product if it does not dry completely. Once dry, sunblock and cosmetics can be applied.
How long should you use scar gel?
Recommended minimum treatment time is approximately 60-90 days. Larger and older scars may take longer, therefore continued use is recommended if the scar continues to improve after the initial 90 days.
Does silicone scar gel expire?
Silicone gel does not expire. If you have silicone gel sheets that you’ve been holding onto for a long time, simply test it to see if it still adheres to your skin. As long as the silicone gel sheet is sticky, then it is working.
