What is Dywidag bar?
DYWIDAG Bars are used for prestressing reinforced concrete elements. The anchor nut absorbs the tensioning force from the post-tensioning bar and rests on the anchor plate, which transfers tensioning force onto the concrete.
What is a CT bolt?
The CT-Boltâ„¢ is a unique combination rock bolt system. It offers the combined advantages of an immediate point anchorage and subsequently a fully grouted rock bolt.
What do rock bolts do?
rock bolt, in tunneling and underground mining, steel rod inserted in a hole drilled into the roof or walls of a rock formation to provide support to the roof or sides of the cavity. Rock bolt reinforcement can be used in any excavation geometry, is simple and quick to apply, and is relatively inexpensive.
What is double corrosion protection?
Double corrosion protection (DCP) provides protection with two independent barriers between the anchor tendon and the environment.
What is a Threadbar?
: a threaded bar or rod.
What is a strand anchor?
Description. Strand anchors are structural elements installed and grouted in predrilled holes in soil or rock to transmit an applied tensile load into the ground.
How do CT bolts work?
The CT-Bolt has a special hemispherical dome at its outer end, which holds the rock loading on the plate, and serves as a grouting chamber. When grout is pumped through the dome, it flows along the bolt inside the polyethylene sleeve to the back of the hole.
How do rock anchors work?
Ground (Rock & Soil) Anchors.
What bolts to use in rock?
Cable bolts can be used for temporary or permanent rock reinforcement. These bolts allow for tensioning without tensioners. They have a free length or threaded anchorage instead of a barrel and wedge system that is often found. This allows for a more flexible system, even when using longer cable bolt lengths.
What is post grouting?
Post-grouting is normally carried out some time when grout of the initial grouting work has set (e.g. within 24 hours of initial grouting). In essence, post-grouting helps to improve the bond between soils and grout, thereby enhancing better skin friction between them.
How strong is threaded rod?
Left Hand – Coarse Threaded Rods
Dia/Thread Size | Length | Tensile Strength |
---|---|---|
Dia/Thread Size | Length | Tensile Strength |
3/8″-16 | 6 ft | 85000 – 140000 psi |
3/4″-10 | 6 ft | 85000 – 140000 psi |
7/8″-9 | 6 ft | 85000 – 140000 psi |
What is Acme threaded rod used for?
ACME threads are commonly used in clamps, vises, and linear actuators. The main advantage to an ACME thread is a low number of threads per inch. This allows ACME threads to allow for increased linear actuation per turn of screw which is similar to a square thread.
