Can I replace R22 with 407C?
The best replacement for R-22 Freon is usually R-407c. You should never under any circumstances add replacement refrigerant to a system that has any R22 refrigerant left in it.
Can I replace R134a with R407C?
Yes, there is an identified replacement for R134a, HFO1234yf, which GM will use. The future for R407C is uncertain. Other things to consider; R407C is a blend which requires total change replacement after 50% loss of charge; this also limits the reuse of refrigerant on site and the recycling of the used refrigerant.
How much 407C should we add to a R22 retrofit initially?
It is recommended that the system be initially charged with the retrofit refrigerant to about 80% by weight of the correct R-22 charge. Add as much as possible of the initial charge to the high pressure side of the system (compressor not running).
Can you charge 407C as a vapor?
